Psychotherapy for what runs deeper than a hard week.

Some stress lifts with a few practical changes. Some doesn’t. Psychotherapy is for anxiety, low mood, trauma and patterns that keep coming back, with a clinician who understands how race, culture, work and family shape what you’re carrying. Sessions are by secure live video (telehealth).

  • Evidence-based care for anxiety, depression and trauma
  • Culturally responsive, including support for racial trauma
  • Use your EAP benefits, health insurance or private pay

Our approach

How psychotherapy differs from counseling

The words overlap, and we use both. On our site, counseling means focused, goal-based help with work stress, careers and life changes. Psychotherapy goes deeper: it looks at where anxiety, sadness or old wounds come from, how they show up now, and how to change the patterns that keep you stuck.

What we treat

What we treat

Anxiety

Constant worry, panic, overthinking, trouble switching off.

Depression

Low mood, loss of interest, exhaustion, feeling numb or hopeless.

Trauma and racial trauma

The lasting effects of frightening events, discrimination and repeated microaggressions.

Grief and loss

The death of a loved one, a divorce, a job or a sense of who you were.

Perimenopause and menopause

Mood swings, anxiety, sleep problems and brain fog that affect work and relationships.

Relationship patterns

Conflict, people-pleasing, trust and boundaries.

Substance use concerns

Drinking or other use you want to look at honestly. This is voluntary therapy, separate from a DOT SAP evaluation.

Racial trauma

Healing from racial trauma

Racism takes a toll on the body and mind, whether it comes as one event or a thousand small ones. You might feel on guard at work, exhausted from code-switching, or angry and unheard. In psychotherapy, you don’t have to prove that it happened or that it matters. We work on the stress it leaves behind, the stories it tells you about yourself, and how you want to protect your energy and move forward.

Methods

How we work

We use approaches with strong research support and fit them to you:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression, recommended in the American Psychological Association’s depression guideline (APA)
  • Trauma-informed care, with trauma-focused approaches when they fit. If a specialized trauma therapy would help, we’ll talk about options, including referral.
  • DBT-informed skills for strong emotions, stress and relationships
  • Solution-focused and action-oriented work so progress shows up in daily life

For perimenopause and menopause, we coordinate with your medical provider and focus on sleep, mood, stress and the changes you’re noticing at work and home.

Your clinician

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between psychotherapy and counseling?

Not much. On our site, psychotherapy means deeper work on anxiety, depression, trauma and long-standing patterns, and counseling means focused help with work and life changes.

Do I need a diagnosis to start?

No. You can start because something feels wrong. If a diagnosis is needed for insurance, we’ll explain it with you.

Can I use my EAP for psychotherapy?

Often, yes. Revive (formerly BHS), Lyra and Spring Health benefits can cover sessions with us when you’re eligible. Complete our intake and we’ll coordinate the rest.

Do you treat racial trauma?

Yes. We help clients work through the stress and harm of racism and discrimination, at work and beyond.

Can therapy help with perimenopause or menopause symptoms?

It can help with the mood, sleep and stress side of these changes. We work alongside your medical provider, who handles medical treatment.

Which states do you serve?

New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Massachusetts. For telehealth, your therapist must be licensed in the state you’re in during each session. You don’t have to be in the same state as your therapist, but traveling outside these states may affect your care or your provider’s ability to treat you.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. You can book a free 15-minute consultation with our intake team, as availability allows.

Is this crisis care?

No. If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 or call 911.
